Only 28% of the world’s startups have a woman as a founder. We will see in this article a fictitious team of a startup with only women. The team will be formed by the technological leader, 4 developers, 1 devops, 1 software architect and 1 QA.
The technology leader
The technology leader needs to inspire confidence, know how to communicate with others and listen to her team in order to move forward productively.
Donna Loughlin Michaels
Donna is the founder of her public relations firm based in Silicon Valley. She brought IoT products to market, from the first smart motorbike helmet to robots. She is a member of the Women’s Entrepreneurial and Executive Forum and is a member of the technology practice committee of the Public Relations Society of America.
Her unique ability is to be able to define purpose and impact that the innovator does not even see. Her ability to market is driven by the fact that she is a practical technology enthusiast.
The developers
Developers need to write code accurately, within the allotted time, in a way that can be easily maintained and improved, in collaboration with their team, and continually improve their knowledge and skills throughout their career.
Corrine Yu
Corrine Yu is one of the best female programmers. She has given her contribution in many games. She had her own 3D projects that she sold to many companies and worked on games such as Zombies, Border in arms, Borderlands and Unreal Engine 3. She has also worked for Microsoft Studios.
Corrine Yu programmed the lighting, the facial animation and developed a new technology for the video game Halo 4 of 2012.
Sara Haider
Sara Haider is another famous programmer. She currently works for Twitter and also worked for Google. She also participated in the development of the application Vine for Android.
Jade Raymond
Jade Raymond currently works for Twitter and also worked for Google. Like Sara Haider, she participated in the development of the Vine application for Android. The two will be able to work together without any problem, as they know the same companies.
Amanda Wixted
Amanda Wixted accepted a job as a game programmer for SkillJam. There, she led a development team that created 10 mobile multiplayer games. Amanda worked for Zynga, where she was a server-side game developer. In 2009, the company launched a Facebook game called PetVille. She is also the founder of Meteor Grove Software.
The Devops
The Devops needs to be flexible, have security and scripting skills and know how to work in a team. It is also important that the Devops knows how to make decisions.
Leslie Carr
Leslie Carr was a DevOps engineer at Cumulus Networks. Previously, she was on the production side of the world on many major websites, including Google, Craigslist and Wikimedia. She is a passionate user of open source and automation, and dreams of having robots take over all our jobs one day.
The software architect
The software architect has to be a leader, an expert in design, in business and a queen in communication.
Anna Shipman
Anna Shipman is a technical director and software developer who lives and works in London. She works at the Financial Times and is a leader in the award-winning FT.com website and FT applications for iPhone and Android.
Anna is an excellent communicator and her presence helped keep her team together.
The QA engineer
QA engineers must be detail-oriented in order to solve problems. They must be efficient in examining products and know how to implement practical changes to improve the quality of the products they supervise. Interpersonal communication skills are required in this position.
Lisa Crispin
Lisa Crispin is perhaps one of the world’s best-known testers. She specializes in helping testers find their place in agile teams and guiding development with business oriented testing.
